Busara
A custom made program designed to firstly provide a platform for school going pupils and students to share their personal experiences, candidly speak about abuse, addictions, exploitation and other unspoken challenges they face as they navigate school life.  Secondly equips them with essential life success skills that enable them to make positive choices, increase their self-awareness, confidence and resilience skills.
With the increasing demand and need for emotional, social, resilience and mental wellness in both primary, high schools and colleges because:

  • Some students come from dysfunctional homes full of abuse and violence. This being the only way of life they are accustomed to, they have difficulty relating with others

  • Some students come from very poor backgrounds which makes them very vulnerable and may fall for the smallest enticement that may seem financially fulfilling for example crime or drug peddling

  • These students come from different religions, cultures, social status and will always want to try something new.

Life skills at this level are as fundamental as science, math or literacy in turning our Pupils/students into capable and successful adults.

Strong social, emotional, mental and resilience life skills have proven to be a contributor to greater academic skills, happiness, better interpersonal skills and a deep sense of self-worth.

With consistent guidance, a little motivation and enough moral support, these pupils and students have the power to reach their full potential making better decisions in life and have a bright future with few or no regrets at all.

To efficiently mitigate these we have:

Spotless Period

We supply sanitary towels, undergarments, toilet paper and soap to girls living in difficult social and economic circumstances. We also train them on the importance of proper menstrual hygiene management to avoid infection and that their learning is not interrupted.

We noted that often the girls abscond classes during their menstrual periods since they cannot afford sanitary towels and they don’t have the knowledge of managing hygiene during that period.

Wezesha Dada

We sponsor well performing, disciplined and needy girls living in difficult social and economic circumstances through their high school education and higher learning. A huge percent of these girls does not enroll to secondary schools due to lack of school fees. Most of them enter marriage life at an early age; some end up in exploitative relationships and face gender violence.

It is against this background that Wezesha Dada endeavors to increase and improve their personal, educational and social strengths to ensure they have no limitations on their dreams and no obstacles to their achievements

Back To School

We support the very needy girls and boys with school uniform and shoes. While the primary education is free for all children in Kenya, some children lack basic necessities and therefore do not exploit this opportunity.
